How to Avoid Pale Makeup in Pictures

Whether you're taking high school graduation photos or wedding photos, you want to look your best in them. To ensure you look your best, you must wear the appropriate makeup. Makeup application for photos is different from makeup application for work or school. Because the flash of the camera can sometimes wash you out and make you look pale, you must wear bolder makeup colors to look healthy in your photos.

Apply a moisturizer to your face and allow it to absorb in your skin for 30 seconds.

Apply concealer that is two to three shades lighter than your skin tone to cover up blemishes and under-eye circles.

Apply a heavy foundation with a flat-top brush to even out your skin tone.

Lightly sweep powder onto your nose, cheeks, chin and forehead with a powder brush. This will set your foundation and concealer.

Sweep bronzer underneath your cheek bones, along your forehead and chin and down the bridge of your nose with an angled brush.

Apply a bright pink or peach blush to the apples of your cheeks with a blush brush.

Apply an eye shadow primer to your eye lids. Sweep gold or bronze eye shadow onto your eye lids with a small eye shadow brush.

Line your waterline (the inside rim of your lower lash line) with a black eyeliner.

Apply a couple of coats of black mascara to your lashes.

Wear a lipstick that is a shade or two darker than your normal lipstick color. If you want to wear lip liner, it should be the same shade as your natural lip color.
